Two explosions rocked a largely Christian city in the southern Philippines Sunday, killing at least 12 people and wounding more than 40, in what police said could be attacks by Muslim extremists. A home-made bomb left in a parked pedicab exploded in front of a crowded shopping mall in General Santos city, while 10 minutes later, another bomb thrown by unidentified attackers exploded and rocked a residential compound in the city. Police in the mainly Christian country had no details on the attackers, but said they believed the same attackers were the ones who planted the first bomb. Most of the victims of the blasts were public transport drivers and street hawkers gathered outside the mall as well as children, witnesses said.
