The 27-year old Justin Eric King was convicted Tuesday for helping smuggle illegal aliens, mostly Bulgarians and Romanians, to work in the Florida hotel industry.

King was sentenced to 41 months in federal prison because as an employee of two firms, Eurohouse Holding Corp. and Woland Inc., he sent 1,558 fake H2-B visa applications to aliens with more than 70 of them coming to the US to work illegally as a result.

The US H2-B visa provides temporary work authorization for foreigners in case a certain employer is unable to find US citizens or permanent residents for the specific position.

Three of King's associates testified against him, and got reduced sentences of 23, 18, and 12 months respectively. Together with King, the four of them will also have to pay a fine of USD 1 M.
