Serbia's Interior Minister Dragan Jocic was seriously injured in a car crash that occurred late on Friday, local media informed.
The official's condition was reported stable.

The other victim in the road accident is the driver of Jocic's car, Mirko Damjanovic, police said. His life is out of danger.

The driver hit a dog and lost control of the car on a road, some 40 miles southeast of Belgrade. The car flipped several times before going off the road.

Jocic, 48, was transferred to Belgrade for treatment at an orthopedic clinic, where he underwent a surgery.

Jocic, a close associate of Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, is serving his second term as interior minister.
