Snow storms in the central US killed at least 11 people and left tens of thousands without electricity.
Slippery roads and heavy snowfalls triggered hundreds of road accidents that claimed the lives of people in the US states of Minnesota, Wyoming, Wisconsin, and Kansas.
The severe weather has caused troubles for thousands of motorists traveling during the holidays and reached as far south as Texas.
The storm has felled trees and power lines leaving 11,000 homes and businesses without power on Sunday.
Forecasters said Monday that conditions are beginning to ease but officials warned that holiday travelers still faced treacherous roadways.
