EUR 5 M MORE GRANTED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SECOND DANUBE BRIDGE

Bulgaria’s Transport Minister Plamen Petrov and Georges d’Andlau, deputy director of the French Development Agency (ADF) signed a EUR 5 M grant agreement for the construction of a second bridge on the Danube between Romania and Bulgaria Vidin-Calafat. The agreement has to be ratified by Parliament. Last year, ADF granted EUR 500,000 for preliminary research for the construction, which is estimated to cost EUR 270 M. In the end of 2001, Bulgaria and the European Investment Bank signed a financial agreement for EUR 50 M.
