The Swedish company SKF, selected as the exclusive buyer for the Sopot bearings plant, offers BGN 15 million to acquire the facility. The information was announced by Mariana Pecheyan, managing director of VSK Kentavar, another candidate for the bearings plant, which offered BGN 6 million. The third candidate, ORS Bulgaria EOOD, had offered BGN 4 million, she said. The reason for the huge margin among the bids is the lack of initial bidding amount.
Pecheyan criticized the information memorandum on the plant, released by the privatisation Agency. The draft privatisation contract inflicts the next blow on Bulgaria`s national interests,
she said. For instance the requirements suggest that the number of jobs in the plant is guaranteed for a year`s time only, the best maintained warehouses of the plant will be sold out separately. Pecheyan stressed that the information on the candidates has been released by PA employees, dissatisfied by the method of divestment of the Sopot plant.
