The charity foundation, which took up with organization of Paris Hilton's trip to Rwanda, postponed the socialite's mission, scheduled for the next month as part of her post-prison commitment..

"Due to the restructuring of the Playing for Good Foundation, the philanthropic trip to Rwanda that the foundation had previously planned with Paris has been postponed," read the statement of the children's charity.

The hotel heiress said that she wants to spread awareness about the African country, where genocide is rampant and show people what they can do to help.

"There's so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help," Hilton said of the region.

The 26-year-old star has recently promised to use her celebrity status for good causes.

"I want to visit more countries where poverty and children's issues are a big concern," Hilton said.

"I know there's a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues," she added.

Hilton declared her intensions in September, several months after serving a 23-day jail sentence for violating probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.

"There are a lot of bad people in L.A. Before, my life was about having fun, going to parties - it was a fantasy," she told. "But when I had time to reflect, I felt empty inside. I want to leave a mark on the world."
