Bulgarian exports to Rumania has grown 220% in the first quarter of this year, as compared to the previous one, which reduces the trade
balance we had in the bilateral trade with this country, said Krassimira Likova, a commercial adviser of the Bulgarian embassy in Bucharest. She added that in 2000 the negative balance in the
bilateral trade stood at USD 145 million, while now it has been melted down to USD 19 million. Statistics show that in the first three months Bulgarian companies have exported goods worth a total of USD 50 million, while the Rumanian imports to Bulgaria stand at USD 31 million. Among the first exporters is the Rousse-based refinery Prista Oil. Bulgaria however still imports fuels from Rumania.
