Iraq Agrees to Help Turkey with PKK

World | October 23, 2007, Tuesday // 00:00

Iraq has agreed to actively help Turkey deal with the "menace" of Kurdish PKK rebels in northern Iraq, the country's foreign minister has said, as cited by BBC.

Hoshyar Zebari said tensions with Ankara would be resolved through dialogue and no-one would be allowed to poison their bilateral relations.

Zebari was speaking after talks with Turkish counterpart Ali Babacan.

Turkey says it wants to use diplomacy but is being pressed by the public and military to use force against the PKK.
