An Iranian resistance group has claimed that Iran is constructing a secret underground military nuclear facility near its Natanz uranium enrichment plant.
The opposition National Council of Resistance of Iran said, at a Paris news conference, that the site is 5kms south of the Natanz plant, under a mountain called Siah Kooh, which it said would help protect it from any air strike. It said the site includes two tunnels with entrances six metres in diameter and that a third tunnel links the alleged facility to Natanz.
The claim, made by the National Council of Resistance of Iran in Paris, could not be independently verified.
The group said it has passed its information, which it said came from sources inside Iran, to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria, but has so far not received a response.
