Sofia shoppers will have another street in the downtown all to themselves since September 15, city's Deputy Transport Mayor Velizar Stoylov announced for Darik News.

Graf Ignatiev Street will be closed for cars and only trams will be allowed.

There will be mounted barriers, which are to be lifted through remote controls that are to be given only to the tram drivers.

That way Graf Ignatiev will join Vitosha Boulevard and Pirotska in becoming a pedestrian-friendly zone.

The restriction will be valid from the street's crossing with Vassil Levski Boulevard all the way to the crossing with Vitosha.
