BIDS FOR VARNA SHIPYARD NOT SUBMITTED, DAILY REPORTS

No bids have been submitted for Bulgaria’s Varna shipyard, a check of Bulgaria’s Pari daily showed, the daily reported on April 1. The deadline for submitting the bids expires at 12pm on April 2. The procedure for submitting offers started March 2 and the tender was called with an opening bid fixed on USD 18 M, which according to analysts was extremely high. After the opening of the tender, Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev declared that ten companies have declared interest in the Varna shipyard. Under the procedure, an offer which is for less than 80% of the minimum price or BGN 32 M cannot be accepted. The receivers will announce the winner in written form on the bidding list. The buyer is obliged to transfer the sum for the deal within 5 days. Information with the Varna shipyard has been listed with Lloyds’ Register at the initiative of Bulgaria’s Economy Minister.
