FOREIGN COMPANIES OWE BULGARIA USD 50 M

Sanctions, imposed by the Privatization Agency (PA) on 49 foreign buyers, who didn't execute the signed contracts, amount to USD 42.8 M and BGN 20.25 M, Standart Daily learnt. The above information concerns the period January 1993 - March 18, 2002. For the time being the Privatization Agency has received only BGN 96.700. During the last year the PA checked up 61 ventures with foreign investors whether they executed their commitments. Infringements were found in 14 ventures.
