The customs is the place where national security could be threatened in one way or another, Interior Ministry Chief Secretary Boyko Borisov said. Among the potential dangers he singled out drugs, illegal arms trade, traffic in people, stolen cars rings. According to Borissov, national security is definitely relevant to the contract that Bulgaria signed with British Crown Agents for consultancy on the Customs. "I may have objections to the wording of some clauses in the contract but it is something of the competence of the Finance Ministry lawyers," he underlined. Borissov also said that he has talked to the British customs chief, who confirmed that Crown Agents has a good reputation in the UK. Such companies and organizations can bring benefit to Bulgaria, Borissov said. According to the latest poll at Novinite.com some 63% of the respondents are happy to see a foreign company involved in the work of the Bulgarian Customs.
