The prime suspect in the kidnap and murder of U.S. reporter Daniel Pearl on Saturday challenged a decision to hold his trial in jail, a court official said. He said defense lawyer Abdul Waheed Katpar filed a petition in the Sindh High Court saying the trials of British-born Islamic militant Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and three alleged accomplices "should be held in open court and not in a jail premises." The trial of four leading suspects in Pearl's abduction and murder is scheduled to start on April 5 in Karachi's main jail.
