The request to serve the sentences of all six detainees has been received by Tripoli and will be acted upon "without hesitation". Under the Repatriation of Prisoners Act it is a matter for the country where sentences are served to decide on the actual sentence, which can in certain circumstances be reviewed by a local court. There will be no need for the Bulgarian President to 'pardon' the nurses. The Minister of Justice should, can and invariably will set the 'tariff' for the life sentences as time served and the nurses be released forthwith. This should take place very, very shortly!
