All current government expenses are within the limits of the national budget projections was announced today at a regular meeting of the Council of Ministers. Yesterday experts from King`s team appealed to the government to stop all privatization deals and to spend money only if it is necessary and within reasonable limits. Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Petar Jotev withdrew also his proposal to the Council of Ministers for a supplementary agreement to the privatization contract with Belgian owner Union Miniere for the Pirdop copper works. `This issue should be addressed by the next minister of the economy,` Jotev said. The draft supplementary agreement envisages an extension of the period covered by the investment program of Union Miniere till 2004, experts said. `Instead of the BGN 170 M deficit expected for May, we have a surplus.` Finance Minister Mouravei Radev said. `We do not indulge in spending that might be viewed as irresponsible. All expenses are based on budget projections` said Labor and Social Policy Minister Ivan Neikov. `It would be irresponsible to discontinue social funding`, he added.
