Audience in Sofia had a chance to see and judge some of the finest representatives in Spain's art of advertising and settled on a social ad.
Titled "Roots", the ad was on display along with dozens of others during the exhibition of professional Spanish ads titled "Viva la diferencia". Those who visited the expo could cast their vote on what they thought was the best commercial. Over 100 people voted placing "Roots" atop, followed by a Playstation 2 ad and one titled "Hannibal" advertising a local TV channel.
One lucky local - Velina Chincheva - received a special prize for taking part in the ads evaluation. She was awarded a poster of the ad "Jungle Book" that grabbed the Golden prize in 2005 in Spain.
"I am glad so many people joined the poll and evaluated the modern Spanish art," Cervantes Institute's head Luisa Fernanda Garrido said after the raffle. "I do hope one day a Bulgarian ads exhibition tours the world and the interest in it is just as high."
Garrido said she was happy to see that the visitors have chosen a social ad over the commercial ones. "This means that the public is now ready not only to learn from what it sees but set its own trends," she said.
The "Roots" ad represents a man atop a high plateau and a huge rootage going hundreds of meters beneath him in the ground.
