If the veto on the Privatisation Act delays the process of privatisation, this will reflect negatively on the interests of foreign and revenues on the budget, Piritta Sorsa, Resident Representative of International Monetary Fund to Bulgaria, said at third round table of the Government with foreign businessmen.

Finance Minister Milen Velchev unequivocally declared that the Cabinet stands by the Privatisation and Post-privatisation Control Act, which was adopted by the Parliament. The Cabinet will continue to insist on a transparent privatisation process, in which all participants enjoy equal rights, he said.

In his opinion any delay in the privatisation will not affect the revenues in the budget, but it is very likely that the already planned major deals will be concluded not before the end of the year.
