Hungary is interested in investing in Bulgaria, primarily in infrastructure and telecommunication projects, Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi said at his meeting with Foreign Minister Passy. Bilateral political and economic relations, Euroatlantic integration, regional and international cooperation were also on the agenda of the meeting. The Danube Bridge 2 project was pointed as strategically important project, for whose construction Hungary is ready to cooperate. In the opinion of the Hungarian Foreign Minister no unsolved problems stand between the two countries. He pledged his country’s support for assisting Bulgaria’s NATO entry through consultations between the different institutions. In his address to the Hungarian Minister, President Parvanov highly assessed the contacts that have been made on all levels, but underlined there is still more to be done in the economic relations between the two countries. Currently Hungary ranks 19th among countries investing in Bulgaria. Minister Janos Martonyi arrived March 5 on a two-day official visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Foreign Minister Passy.
