The leaders of the United Democratic Forces (UDF) met on March 6 with Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg in Parliament. “The consensus that we reached with UDF will lead to a successful way in NATO preparations till the summit in Prague, “ Saxe-Coburg commented after the meeting. He added that “our visions with opposition on the important for the country issues coincide and this encourages me.” The leaders of the United Democratic Forces proposed to the prime minister a package of measures for accelerating Bulgaria’s preparation for NATO entry. The same package of measures was presented to Bulgaria’s president on March 5 by the UDF leaders. Deputy Prime Minister Nikolay Vassilev as well as the floor leaders of the Simeon II National Movement (SIINM) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms attended the meeting. Plamen Panayotov, SIINM floor leader said after the meeting that he is to initiate a series of meetings with all parliamentary groups to discuss the issues, related to Bulgaria's preparations for NATO entry.
