GLOBUL ATTRACTS CLIENTS WITH LOWER PRICES

Bulgaria's GloBul GSM network, owned by Greek telecom OTE, announced a price cut for prepaid SIM cards, starting March 8, with rates per minute dropping to BGN 0,79 from current BGN 0,97, VAT excluded. The rate will be flat for all networks. When launching operations n September, Globul said one of its priorities will be boosting prepaid- card market. Globul has attracted a total of 170,000 subscribers since then. According to Radina Ralcheva, Globul spokesman, this will be the cheapest product on the market. . The prepaid-card rates of Globul’s chief competitor Mobiltel, range between BGN 0,89 and BGN 1,16 per minute, depending on the network used, VAT excluded. According to Mobiltel CEO Roumyana Kyuchukova, the country’s first GSM operator, plans no price cuts.
