Bulgaria and Turkey delayed until April an agreement on high-way tolls, so that the issue might be considered for a longer period of time by Ankara, Plamen Petrov, Transport and Communications Minister, announced. Turkey, which claims its tolls are lower the Bulgaria’s, has reportedly failed to submit precise calculations to justify the statement, Dnevnik Daily wrote, citing sources close to the joint bilateral transport and communications committee. Sofia said it was unable to impose road tolls that would be different for Bulgarian and foreign road hauliers because of its EU negotiations. Turkey’s Transport Minister Oktay Vural said Ankara agreed to issue an additional 3,000 general cargo permits.
