Up to 30 people died when a train carrying Hindu activists from the controversial site of a razed mosque was set on fire in western India on Wednesday, officials said. The activists were returning from northern Ayodhya, where hard-line Hindus are gathering to build a temple on the ruins of a mosque whose destruction a decade ago triggered riots in which more than 3,000 people were killed nationwide. The Sabarmati Express was stopped just outside Godhra station in the western state of Gujarat and unidentified men then set fire to one of the coaches, an official said, quoted by Reuters.
