EX DEPUTY MINISTER NO LONGER HEAD OF BULGARTABAC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Lyubka Kachakova, former deputy economy minister, was released from her position Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bulgaria’s tobacco monopoly Bulgartabac at her request. That was announced by the Executive Director of Bulgartabac Georgi Popov. Kachakova also requested to be released from membership in Bulgartabac’s Board of Directors. This request of hers is to be discussed at the coming shareholders’ meeting of the tobacco monopoly. Rumen Porozhanov, director of department "Structural reform" with the Economy Ministry and member the company's Board of Directors was appointed to replace Kachakova as chair of Bulgartabac’s Board of Directors. Lyubka Kachakova was dismissed from her position deputy economy minister on February 18 by Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg. After the news was made public, Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Nikolay Vassilev announced that Lyubka Kachakova was fired at his request.
