I am willing to make compromises, given that they don’t break the law, BNT anchor Dimitur Tsonev, one of the three candidates for General Director of the Bulgarian National Television said at the presentation of his project for the television development. He expressed certainty that he can cope with the political pressure which may be exerted after his election. In his opinion the National TV’s public council must consist of 70 members, including politicians, NGOs, MPs. Tsonev suggested mixed funding for the television, holding structure, as well as the introduction of subtitles, which will be of great help to the people with poor eyesight or hearing. Tsonev confirmed readiness to promote cooperation between the National TV and the Bulgarian National Radio. Dimitur Tsonev, together with Kiril Gotsev and Ivan Takev were the three candidates for the position General Director of the Bulgarian National Television, selected by the Council on Electronic Media to run for the position. CEM members voted by secret ballot. The candidates received 8, 6 and 5 votes respectively. Later in the day the other two candidates will make their presentations.
