MEDICS IN LIBYA: WE ARE INNOCENT AND THIS KEEPS OUR FAITH ALIVE

We are innocent and this keeps our faith alive, the Bulgarian medics in Libya said in an address to the Bulgarian journalists in Tripoli, quoted by the Foreign Ministry. “First of all we would like to thank all of you, who stood by us from the very beginning and made an objective coverage of the trial,” the statement reads. Yet the medics underline that some journalists speculated with it and contributed to the creating wrong impressions of the projects. The medics point out that people frequently consider suspects to be guilty and call on the journalists to help them. As a conclusion the statement expresses gratitude to Qaddafi Foundation, the President and Prime Minister as well as Foreign Minister Passy for their help. The People's Court of Libya decided on February 17 that the case against the medics, charged with intentionally infecting 393 Libyan children with HIV, will be taken back to the Chief Prosecutor. The case was downgraded since the court concluded that it has nothing to do with state security or acts of sabotage, experts commented.
