POLAND’S AMBASSADOR: TIME IS CRUCIAL FOR BULGARIA’S EU ENTRY

Politics | February 23, 2002, Saturday // 00:00

“The question of Bulgaria and Romania is out of discussion because they should become members of the European Union. The important question here is time. You are aware of the gap, which exists not only between Bulgaria and the EU member states but also between Bulgaria and the central European states especially Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland,” Poland’s Ambassador to Bulgaria H.E. Yaroslaw Lindenberg said in an exclusive for novinite.com interview. “You have very good expert professionals in the government – young and educated in Western Europe with excellent professional background,” H.E. Lindenberg pointed out. According to the Polish diplomat “without public support, without social energy even the best reforms are doomed to fail.” He added that the greatest unknown is whether the Bulgarian society will be energetic enough to use the opportunities created by the Government and Parliament.
