Nicholas Burns, US resident representative to NATO arrives today in Bulgaria on a two-day visit. He is scheduled to meet President Parvanov, Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg and ministers. The officials will discuss Bulgaria’s preparation for NATO entry.In a separate development, Interior Minister Georgi Petkanov met with Wayne Reichek, Chief of the Office of Security with NATO's Secretary General.The sides discussed the draft law on classified information. The guest said that the successes Bulgaria has achieved and the good interaction among the institutions in the area of security are indicative of the country's readiness for NATO membership. During his Sofia visit, Reichek met the chiefs of the National Security Service, the National Intelligence Service and the Interior Ministry's Military Information Service and Security Service - Military Police and Military Counterintelligence. He was assured that all institutions are resolved to satisfy the standards and criteria for membership of NATO. Reichek's visit was at the invitation of Deputy Interior Minister Boiko Kotsev.
