BULGARIA FACES REFUGEE INVASION

Bulgaria is expecting refugee movements due to intensifying conflict in Macedonia, Bulgarian PM Ivan Kostov said yesterday. Few days ago Defense Minister Boiko Noev denied such threat but Foreign Minister Nadejda Mihailova expressed Bulgaria`s readiness to admit refugees from its neighbor. At present 40,000 Macedonians are homeless rushed to leave their homes, PM Kostov said. Under the Geneva Convention Bulgaria is obligated to accept up to 5,000 refugees. Shelters are prepared in Panagyurishte, Strelcha and Devin to accept refugees.
