CODE OF ETHICS PROMOTED TO KEY POLITICIANS

Code of Good Business Practice in Bulgarian language was sent today to the main political players days before the general elections in Bulgaria this Sunday. The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, part of the Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum, worked out the Code. It was established at the end of 1999 by president Petar Stoyanov and Prince Charles and currently unites 52 companies, 37 of them international investors in the country, some local companies and non-governmental organizations. `These were the first copies of the Bulgarian version of the Code, which is such important for the developing of the business in Bulgaria`, Maxim Behar, Forum`s chairman said. `English versions were promoted an year ago to the Prince and to the President personally, we decided to promote now the Bulgarian ones to the main political parties before the elections in order to know how important is ethics for each business and for each society`, Behar added. The Code is based on the best business practices among local and international companies and is due to be a guide for the businessmen how to keep their business fair and transparent. Official presentation of the Bulgarian version is scheduled after the elections.
