A vast quantity of synthetic drug was found during a joint operation of the police and the national service for combating organized crime, officials reported.

Two Bulgarians, aged 30 and 38, from Sofia, and a 53-year-old Turkish citizen were arrested for possession of the substance whose cost is estimated at USD 2 M.

The men were busted in the centre of Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second largest city, while loading the drug into a car. The narcotics were stored in the house of the Turkish citizen, and the two Bulgarians were supposed to cross Bulgarian Southern border.

The Turkish citizen has a criminal record and during a previous search of his house zinc plates, foils for mock holograms, clichГ©s for forging EUR 500 bank-notes, as well as phony visas were found.
