DEMAND FOR OIL-YIELDING SUNFLOWER-SEED RISES

For the second successive week buyers of oil-yielding sunflower-seed did not withdraw. Brokers explain the intensified demand with the poor harvest this year. In a week the prices on the Stock Exchange went up to BGN 520-550 per ton VAT excluded. Experts claim the lack of offers proves that there is deficit. In their opinion the problem can be solved only through imports or state intervention. Sunflower prices are accordingly expected to continue to rise. The levels of the other grain crops and food products remained relatively stable over the week.
