Bulgarian Police Bust Rapist

Crime | July 30, 2006, Sunday // 00:00

Bulgarian police officers managed to apprehend a man from the central city of Plovdiv, just an hour after he had raped an eighteen-year-old girl, Darik News reported.

Police were tipped off about eight in the evening on Saturday about a girl who had been tossed out of a car on the road between two villages. The woman, who found the girl, told Bulgaria's national TV that she was naked, battered and she was shivering and crying.

Police only took three minutes to get to the scene and the girl said a man driving a Honda, had raped. Preliminary reports that she had been hitchhiking have been refuted by her saying he had forcefully dragged her into the car.

Police cordoned off the roads and about an hour later they caught the 44-year-old violator.
