United Democratic Forces (UDF) would win, if general elections were held now, the latest poll at novinite .com shows. A total of 44% of the readers, who took part in the poll, said they would cast their votes for the current opposition UDF. Those who supported Simeon II National Movement, which holds a majority in Parliament, accounted for 33% of the votes. The Bulgarian Socialist Party ranks third with 11% of the votes, while the remainder of the respondents said they would choose some other political organization. Readers from Bulgaria, Germany, US, Greece, Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Cyprus, Turkey took part in the poll.
Simeon II National Movement swept to power, following the general elections in June, 2001. On February 4 the opposition UDF submitted in Parliament a non-confidence vote against the Cabinet. The vote will be held February 13, 2002.
