Crime | July 17, 2006, Monday // 00:00

A robbery put at high alert the police officers at Bulgaria's southern seaside resort of Sunny Beach, reports say.

A total of EUR 9,150 were lifted from a hotel safe in the resort, hired by a newspaper and magazine distribution company.

The company kept their turnover in the safe, where it turned out to be not as safe as they had hoped.

Unknown culprits took the cash sometime between ten in the morning and five in the afternoon on Saturday, police believes. The theft wasn't reported until late Sunday afternoon.

Police are still investigating the crime.
