Real Estate Fraudster Nabbed in Bulgaria's Capital

Crime | July 14, 2006, Friday // 00:00

A 19-year-old man from Bulgaria's Sofia was arrested after trying to sell somebody else's apartment in the capital city.

Two men were arrested in connection to the case. The younger one R.A., 19, who already has a criminal record accompanied by G.D., 42, went to the lawyer to execute the deal. They presented papers that R.A. owned an apartment, which he inherited from his grandmother.

Police, however, disclosed that the grandmother was residing in a elderly people care centre in the northern city Vratsa and that the other relatives are not acquainted with his intentions to sell the flat.

The buyer was not aware of the situation and was ready to pay for the apartment. He told the police officers that he had negotiations with G.D.

The investigation continues.
