Yasser Arafat says he is giving "100% effort" to curbing violence, as Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visits the US to secure further approval of his policy to isolate the Palestinian leader. But violence has flared again in the West Bank, with four people killed during a Palestinian attack on a Jewish settlement and at least five injured in a retaliatory Israeli air raid on the nearby city of Nablus.
