A car crash that took the life of one child and threw another into a coma has plunged the Bulgarian national volleyball team in sorrow.
The daughter of Nikolai Naidenov was killed on the road near Varna at the seaside, and that of his colleague Svetozar Ivanov is in a coma. The players' wives were also badly injured, but have been stabilized. Only Ivanov's younger son hasn't suffered any serious injuries.
All of the team's players gathered in the hospital where the two women are recovering to support their mates as the tragedy unfolds. The life of Ani Naidenova and Daniela Ivanova is out of danger, but they are in grave condition. Young Yana Ivanova is fighting for her life, while Naydenov already mourns his daughter Nicole.
The two players started Friday for their team's 3:2 victory over Germany in Varna.
