Gunman Bozhidar Stoychev, had an unsettled court dispute with the shot woman's husband Todor Zapryanov, dubbed The Pill, regarding real estate, media revealed. He went to the store that Zapryanov's family owned and shot through the window with a Winchester carbine.

Stoychev has been arrested and charged with an attempt to a first-degree murder. Zapryanov has also been taken in, because he chased after the shooter brandishing an illegal gun. He is a long-time acquaintance of the police and his rap sheet includes blackmail, thefts and frauds. At present he sells cars imported from Austria.
