Sofia Heating Utility Abused EUR 6 M

Violations in the Sofia heating utility have totalled over EUR 6 M, the capital's Mayor Boyko Borisov said Monday.

It's high time for the prosecution to press charged against Toplofikatsia's head Valentin Dimitrov, Borissov added.

The report from the municipal probe in the heating utility has been finished, and the results show drastic violations, the mayor stated. Dimitrov had equipped his office with sauna and Jacuzzi, he used the services of a private masseur and bough fuel for his own car on the company's account.

Toplofikatsia will be sold, Economy and Energy Minister Rumen Ovcharov and Vladimirr Kisyov, chief of the governors decided in the beginning of the month. Back then Borissov slammed the minister for his attempts to protect a company burdened with some EUR 51.5 M losses.
