Bulgaria's move to be chosen as host of the 2014 Winter Olympics was upheld by the local music elite on Sunday, luckily for Sofia people who were in for the good beat.

Pop prima Lili Ivanova and the celebrated KariZma duo were just a few of the bands and artists who entertained fans in front of the Alexander Nevsky cathedral.

Bulgarian athletes have already united to help the country's bid.

Silver and bronze Olympic medallist Evgenia Radanova, slalom racer Petar Popangelov, European biathlon champion Pavlina Filipova, and Alexandra Zhekova - Europe's snowboard leader in border cross - have pledged to promote Bulgaria as an eligible spot for the Olympic event.
