Children of high-ranked Bulgarian magistrates have been involved into a gang that dealt with fake bankcards, media reported.

Bulgarian police along with colleagues from France, Spain, Germany, Austria busted the culprits who specialized in manufacturing and distributing fake cards all over the countries EU members. Bulgaria's police are working on that case since September 2005.

The gang included more than 15 people, but only 5 have been arrested so far. According to unofficial reports one of the arrested is son of the deputy regional prosecutor's office in the northern town of Silistra. Still, police declined to confirm the information.

In the home of one of the arrested police found a computer, cameras, and CD. The man has been extradited from the UK for ATM frauds. Three of the detainees are from Silistra, one from Sofia and one from Plovdiv.

Boyan Petrakiev, aka Barona, a household name in Bulgaria was also involved in the gang, it appeared.

Meanwhile, it became clear that police officers have searched the homes of Silistra Deputy Regional Prosecutor Daniela Nedelcheva and the regional judges Galya Antonova and Anelia Velikova. Judge Velikova accused the police officers of incompetence and human right violation.
