State Administration Minister Dimitur Kalchev met with Austria's Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Public Services and Sports, Dr Susanne Riess-Passer, and with the Second President of the National Council (Parliament) of the Republic of Austria, Dr Thomas Prinzhorn during a visit to Austria. In an interview for Deutsche Welle, Kalchev explained that the sides discussed questions related to the public administration reform and the national integrated information
system or e-government in Austria. “This system could provide a model for development of a programme for the Bulgarian integrated information system,” Kalchev said. According to the requirements set by the European Union, Bulgaria should be ready with this national integrated information system by the end of 2004 so that it could be ready for inclusion into the Pan-European integrated information system, he added.
