The national security concept and military doctrine should determine more clearly Bulgaria’s interests, aims, priorities and threats, including terrorism and drug trafficking, President and Commander in Chief Georgi Parvanov said in his lecture on Bulgaria's foreign policy priorities delivered before The Atlantic Club of Bulgaria. President Parvanov underlined that Bulgaria's security depends on ensuring stable economic growth and an inflow of foreign investment. He confirmed his determination to keep the continuity, balance, realism and professionalism in Bulgaria’s foreign policy in achieving the end aim of EU and NATO-entry. Commenting the situation on the Balkans, President Parvanov expressed the opinion that Bulgaria bears great responsibility for the region’s stabilization, which includes unequivocal support for Macedonia.
