The preparation of the Bulgarian participants in the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan will end by February 15, the General Staff of the Bulgarian army informed Bulgaria’s Darik Radio. Shortly after February 15, the selected volunteers will leave for Kabul. Nine officers, ten sergeants, eleven soldiers and one civil person will take part in the mission. The preparation of the participants takes place in the base Musachevo and lasts 10 hours per day, six days per week. The participants in the mission will receive USD 60 per day for their work in Afghanistan and will have the possibility to talk for 20 minutes over a satellite phone with their Bulgarian relatives. They will receive letters and newspapers once per week.
