CHIEF PROSECUTOR WANTS EX-AGRICULTURE MINISTER STRIPPED OF IMMUNITY

Chief Prosecutor Nikola Filchev demanded that Former Agriculture Minister Ventsislav Vurbanov be stripped of immunity from prosecution January 31. Filchev claims that Vurbanov has committed grave crimes as Agriculture Minister and chairman of fund “Agriculture” in the period March 1, 1998 - July 2001 . A total of 98 materials have been attached as proof of the allegations. Ventsislav Vurbanov said he is not troubled by the allegations since he has always been honest in keeping his obligations. The Parliamentary Legal Committee is to present its opinion on the issue in about ten days.
