BG-JAPANESE MILK PROJECT RECEIVES HIGH ASSESSMENT

The Bulgarian-Japanese five-year project on milk products development in Bulgaria was highly assessed by a joint coordination committee. Deputy Farming Minister Boyko Boev, Deputy Economy Minister Sofia Kassidova and Kozo Inada, head of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) mission, signed the protocol for the implementation of the project. The project helped Bulgaria improve milk technologies, raw milk research and quality control methods. It was launched in 1997 with a total of USD 2,5 M invested by the Japanese side. Inada expressed JICA's interest in the development of premium-quality Bulgarian milk products.
