AGREEMENT WITH RUSSIA FOR RELAXED VISA REGIME POSTPONED

Political relations with Russia for the last ten years were frozen, while in the economic sector a plunge was registered, Foreign Minister Passy, who is on a three-day official visit in Moscow, said. The agreement on a relaxed visa regime between the two countries was expected to be sign January 31, but was postponed after the Russian side expressed serious objections to key terms in it. According to Minister Passy the agreement will be signed when both sides are ready. Exact dates will be given after the end of his visit. Minister Passy's visit aims to demonstrate the Cabinet’s willingness to develop relations with Russia. He underscored that the economic relations and the trade between the two countries must be put in the forefront because of their tremendous potential.
