World Chess King and M-Tel Masters double champion Vesselin Topalov will challenge European commissioners and EC officials in a simultaneous game this Wednesday.
The first move will be in the hands of Jan Figel, commissioner for education, training, culture and multilingualism, who is also known as feverish chess player.
The unique game will be held on May 24, in Brussels, to celebrate the Bulgarian Day of Letters and Culture.
Topalov will play on 12 chessboards simultaneously, organisers from the Foreign Ministry announced.
The game participants will receive Topalov-signatured chessboards, a CD featuring the hymn of enlightener Sts Cyril and Methodius sounding in different European languages, a special Bulgarian newspaper on European integration and many other gifts.
Vesselin Topalov will surprise each of his rivals with various types of opening moves, he revealed himself in advance.
